Hal earned his Ph.D. in comparative immunology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, studying the ontogeny and phylogeny of the splenic white pulp. He is currently investigating the genetic basis and molecular mechanisms underlying NK cell-mediated adaptive immunity. Outside of lab, he enjoys playing tennis and the trumpet.
